Registration

A non-refundable yearly registration fee of R 150 is payable for each dancer/student.

Registration fees are payable on the day of enrolment and strictly to a student’s first class. The registration fee guarantees your child’s place at dancing to victory. The registration fee also includes a medal (on which they will receive in the end of year prize giving as well as certificate of completion & access to studio app) & Admin administration costs.

After corresponding with us via email and registering, parents are responsible for all payments of the student’s account and must acquaint him/herself with the terms and conditions and general rules prior to sending the student to their first class.

Every student is liable to sign a six (6) or twelve (12) month contract with dancing to victory. should you, for any reason, feel the need to terminate your contract with Dancing to Victory a one (1) month written notice of intention to terminate needs to be given. In failing to do so, you will still be liable for your monthly fee until written notice is handed in.

No classes will be scheduled on public holidays.



Studio closes during school holidays, extra classes might be scheduled during the first week of school holidays.

Dance fees are calculated on a monthly/termly basis and are payable in advance or before the 25th of each month. Under no circumstances will any fees be refundable, and no credit will be given for the following month to students who are absent.

In the event that fees are not paid before or on the 25th of each month, an invoice will be sent as a reminder to pay the outstanding amount on an agreed postponed date. In the event that the person responsible for paying hasn't settled the outstanding fees on the agreed date, the student will not be allowed to attend class, until outstanding fees have been paid.

Dancing to victory does not accept responsibility, direct or indirect, and will not be held liable for any accident, death, injuries, illness, damage, and/or losses suffered by you and/or the student during dance lessons, rehearsals, performances, functions and outings and you hereby agree to in demnify and hold harmless dancing to victory studio in the event of any such occurrences.

Dancing to victory will not be responsible for students outside of class times.

All students, teachers and parents will adhere to the studio “general rules” for their own safety and out of respect for others and the premises used.

Dancing is a disciplined art form and requires a serious approach. Being punctual is deemed being part of this discipline. Therefore, should a student arrive more than 10 minutes late for any scheduled class, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the class for the remaining duration thereof. Unless a valid reason is given, or parent has contacted the teacher in advance to inform that the student will be late. If a student won’t be making a class please contact the Teacher to let them know so that no extra time is wasted to wait for student.



No eating or soft drinks to be consumed during class times, please ensure that your child has water available during classes



No interruptions during any class. All administration matters can be discussed after classes



All cell phones to be switched off or on silent during class.



Please note that dancing to victory studio will make use of outside choreographers at times for certain classes, who will ask an additional fee which is payable by the relevant account holder.



No spectators are allowed to sit in at any of the classes other than mentioned above. Please abide by this rule for it is only to the benefit of your child.



If, for whatever reason, a student wants to discontinue lessons,1 months' notice needs to be given.

If your child is not comfortable wearing only leotard and skirt they can either wear ballet stockings or black tights.

Should a student turn-up without the appropriate attire, there will be an additional penalty fee.

Studio leotard and skirt can be purchased at studio.

Attendance Policy for showcase:

Regular attendance is crucial for dancers to remain in shape/avoid injury and progress at the expected rate. In addition, showcase choreography begins in January in all of our dance classes and regular attendance is extremely important for students to learn class choreography.

Pre Dance 1, 2 and Creative Pre Primary dancers are expected to attend regularly all season to remain eligible to perform in the Showcase, but there is no set number of absences for these levels. Parents will be contacted if attendance becomes a concern for younger students.

Occasionally, when younger dancers are absent a couple weeks in a row, they become hesitant to return to class at all due to the disruption in their routine. Please reach out and let us know if your dancer is experiencing any hesitation in returning to class; we are here to help!

Primary and Grade 1: Any absences over the amount listed below could affect a dancer’s eligibility to remain in our program and/or perform in the annual Showcase. While it is possible to make up missed classes in another appropriate class, there is no guarantee that missed choreography can be “made up” and attending a lower level for an extended period of time is not permitted. It is imperative that dancers attend class regularly except in the event of illness.

Grade 2 are allowed 6 excused absences February - April, and 6 excused absences August - October.



The three weeks prior to the showcase are absolutely mandatory except in the event of contagious condition or graded school event. Dancers who are absent the three weeks prior to the show may be pulled from their class dance if the instructor deems it more beneficial for the class as a whole. Dancers work very hard to retain their choreography, and it puts extra pressure on their classmates when students are routinely absent. We thank you for realizing how important regular attendance is, and assure you that your dancer will be very glad they put in the time and effort when the big day arrives! If dancers “miss” new choreography, it is their responsibility to learn what they’ve missed. We sometimes record new choreography, but dancers should NOT rely on videos–we recommend keeping a “choreography notebook” to write down choreography and meeting with friends before the next class to review what was missed. (Pre dance 1,2, creative pre-primary and primary; not applicable)

Picture day, full cast rehearsals, and dress rehearsals are mandatory for all levels/classes. Dancers who are absent from any full cast or dress rehearsal are not permitted to perform in the show. If you experience an emergency the day of a rehearsal, contact Simone ASAP. Dancers may not leave full cast or dress rehearsals earlier than their designated dismissal time (All levels/classes).

Please review all dates and times carefully. Full Cast and Dress Rehearsals are absolutely mandatory.

General Rules regarding Ballet exams/Participation in dance competitions.

1. Only students who have developed the and achieved the ballet grade techniques will be allowed to participate in ballet exams.

2. In order for your child to participate in ballet examinations, they will need to consistently attend two classes per week. If your child has to miss a class they are required to practice at home and come well rehearsed for the following class.

3. If your child is ill and not contagious or if they are injured and unable to dance, they will be required to attend and watch their lesson. If your child is booked off by the medical profession we will understand.
